new sunday morning schedule to begin may 4, 2025

Dear Church Family,

We are writing to share an important update regarding our Sunday morning schedule at Harker Heights Methodist Church. This change was first recommended by the Church Council on March 9, 2025, and then discussed in depth during an All-Church Meeting on March 23, 2025. We are grateful for everyone who participated – asking thoughtful questions, sharing insights, and helping us discern together. 

After prayerful consideration and broad congregational input, the recommendation was adopted. The new Sunday morning schedule that will be in effect beginning Sunday May 4, 2025 is described  below.

Current Schedule 

7:30 AM Breakfast

8:30 AM Choir Warm-Up

9:00 AM Worship

10:15 AM Sunday School

NEW Schedule Beginning May 4, 2025

7:30 AM Breakfast

9:15 AM Sunday School

10:00 AM Choir Warm-Up

10:30 AM Worship

This adjustment supports our mission of inviting everyone to a living relationship with Jesus Christ. A few key reasons behind the change include:

• Starting worship later will improve the timeliness of church activities following      the service (e.g., potlucks, receptions, etc.).
• Holding  Sunday School before worship ensures classes can meet without being      shortened if worship runs long.

We know that change can bring both excitement and questions. Our desire is to serve you well and to move forward together in unity and purpose, so please do not hesitate to direct any questions to us or any member of the Church Council.
