what does the bible says about money?

A lot. Consider this:

>>God has given us all that we have. Giving to Him is an act of worship in which we acknowledge Him as our enduring hope.

  • 1 Chronicles 29:14 (NIV) “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand."

  •  1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV) "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. "

>>Watch out for greed and practice contentment.

  • Ecclesiastes 5:10 (NIV) “Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income."

  • Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”

>>Tithe regularly and give generously to others.

  • Malachi 3:10 (NIV) “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

  •  2 Corinthians 9:6–8 (NIV) “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
